What is an enterprise local schema?

Local Business schema markup is a more specific type of schema markup in the Schema.org vocabulary that helps display your local business’s most important information to search engines. Also note that Business local schema markup is known to be a subtype of other schema markup types such as Place and Organization. It therefore inherits the properties of these two types of markup, but focuses on information that would be important to a local searcher.  There are several local business schema markup or properties you can enter, such as typical NAP (name, address, phone number), hours of operation, and geolocation information.  In most cases, Internet users open a browser to search for specific business information such as a phone number, menu or opening hours.  In this case, when you add local schema tags to your website’s HTML code, it can:
  • Improve the visibility of your company’s site on search results pages;
  • Excite the most people visiting your website to perform a considerable action on your website;
  • Make your website more active in voice searches.

How to generate code with the Local Business Schema Generator

To generate code with the Local Business Schema Generator, here are some simple steps to follow:

Step 1: Enter your information

As information about your business, you must start by selecting the type of your company by clicking on the drop-down arrow in the list box of the form. Then, in the second line of information, you will be asked to put the name of your company. The next section is for your business physical address.  If you have multiple locations, you can create contact pages for each location and create a JSON-LD script for each.  On top of that, you need to add a URL, that of your local business website. There is also a line to add an image according to a specific dimension. Among the relevant information that you will be asked for and which are mandatory, moreover, there is the email address of the company and your telephone number.

Step 2: Save your JSON-LD code

Once you are done filling in information, the tool will generate a JSON-LD markup code in the reserved box at the bottom. You need to copy this markup code and paste it into a notepad to save it. With some information we’ve filled in, here’s what our tool-generated JSON-LD markup code looks like: <!– Generated using https://microdatagenerator.org/localbusiness-microdata-generator/ –> < script type=”application/ld+json”> { “@context”: “https://schema.org”, “@type”: “LocalBusiness”, “name”: “Twaino Agency”, “address”: { “@type”: “PostalAddress”, “streetAddress”: “2 Rue Jacques Louvel-Tessier”, “addressLocality”: “Paris”, “addressRegion”: “”, “postalCode”: “75010” }, “email”: “agence@twaino.com”, “url”: “twaino.com”, “openingHours”: “Mo,Tu,We,Th,Sa,Su 0-0”, “openingHoursSpecification”: [ { “@type”: “OpeningHoursSpecification”, “dayOfWeek”: [ “Monday”, “Tuesday”, “Wednesday”, “Thursday”, “Saturday”, “Sunday” ], “opens”: “0”, “closes”: “0” } ], “priceRange”:”$”   } </script> You can also display this code in HTML version which will look like this: <!– Generated using https://microdatagenerator.org/localbusiness-microdata-generator/ – -> <itemscope div itemtype=”https://schema.org/LocalBusiness”> <div itemprop=”name”>Agence Twaino</div> <div>Email: <span itemprop=”email”><a href=’mailto:agence@ twaino.com’>agence@twaino.com</a></span></div> <div>Url: <span itemprop=”url”><a href=’twaino.com’>twaino.com</ a></span></div>   <meta itemprop=”openingHours” style=’display: none’ datetime=”Mo,Tu,We,Th,Sa,Su 0-0″ /> <div itemtype=”http ://schema.org/PostalAddress” itemscope=”” itemprop=”address”> <div itemprop=”streetAddress”>2 Rue Jacques Louvel-Tessier</div> <div><span itemprop=”addressLocality”>Paris< /span>, <span itemprop=”addressRegion”></span> <span itemprop=”postalCode”>75010</span></div> </div> </div>

Step 3: Test your code

When your code is generated, then you need to click the test button to make sure it is correct. If you click on the button, you will be redirected immediately to the page of the various Google tools. On this page you can test your code for Google rich snippets and also check the validity of your generated code. The other thing you should also note is that using local business schema markup can make your business information visible.  But if you don’t follow Google’s guidelines for using schema markup, the search engine may consider your efforts ineligible. Here are some tips:
  • It is advisable to use the correct structured data format. Speaking of good formats, Google considers PDF and JSON-LD the best;
  • Google also wants you to use structured data for the page or content that the data describes. For example, if it’s business hours, don’t squeeze it into a page about generic cleaning tips.
In general, Local Business Schema Generator is a great local SEO tool that businesses can add to their tool site.
